Palo Santo, meaning “holy wood” in Spanish, has been used for generations in spiritual practices to cleanse energy, create a peaceful atmosphere and bring a sense of calm into a space. Its warm, woody aroma makes it a beautiful addition to your meditation, mindfulness or energy cleansing rituals.

Burning palo santo is a lovely way to mark a fresh start, release stagnant energy and create space for a more balanced, harmonious environment. It can be particularly helpful when you want to reset the energy in your home, prepare for meditation or simply take a moment to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

How to use your palo santo
Light one end of the stick and allow it to burn briefly before gently blowing out the flame, allowing the wood to smoulder and release its fragrant smoke. Move it carefully around your space, setting an intention to clear away unwanted energy and welcome in peace, clarity and positivity.

You can also use palo santo before meditation, tarot or oracle readings, Reiki or other spiritual practices to create a calm, intentional atmosphere. There's no need to rush. Take a few moments to breathe deeply and focus on the energy you wish to invite into your space.

A little ritual for your everyday life
Whether you're starting a new chapter, creating a peaceful home or making time for your spiritual practice, palo santo can become a simple and meaningful part of your rituals.

How to care for your palo santo
Always use palo santo in a well-ventilated space, on a heat-resistant surface, and never leave burning or smouldering wood unattended. Keep away from children, pets and flammable materials.
